Adrenaline-Fueled Inshore Fishing: Redfish and Black Drum in Port Aransas
Alright, let's dive into this fishing adventure in Port Aransas, Texas! It was a gorgeous day as we set out with Drew and Kevin for an 8-Hour Fishing Charter with Russell & Sons Outdoors. March is a prime time for inshore fishing around these parts, with the warming waters bringing the Redfish, Trout, and other inshore species closer to the surface.
We started the day with a mix of techniques, from free lining to popping corks. The conditions were perfect, with partly cloudy skies and great water visibility. It started slow seeing redfish and drum everywhere. Once the wind started to blow the rods started bending, and we were into some feisty Redfish (Red Drum). These reds put up an incredible fight, making strong runs and testing our skills. Between the Redfish, we also managed to land a nice Black Drum using a combination of live bait and artificial lures.
As the day progressed, the action just kept getting better. The variety of species and techniques kept us on our toes, but it was all part of the thrill of this inshore fishing trip. Between the constant action and the great company, it was just an all-around fantastic day on the water.
